Great challenge and thinker-starter.

I guess my first response is how can I help the weak become strong and how can I help the poor learn to work themselves into better condition. Is this position Biblically incorrect? I think we as believers culturally have learned to judge the poor and weak and lose all compassion on behalf of the ones who do take advantage. We think that investing in our own efforts will maximize results, which justifies neglect on the poor and week, etc. Where is the line and how do we use our resources to be the most obedient to the cause of Christ?

This Message version definitely sheds a different light.
