My name is Chris McCool and I’m a recovering addict of religion. I consider myself a follower of Jesus meaning I whole heartedly believe the teachings of Jesus are truth and life. I subscribe to the Shema (Deuteronomy 6.4-9) and specifically the teaching of Jesus (Matthew 22.36-40). This online journal is where I document my thoughts, essays, fears, as well as things from the greater church planting and theology community that I find inspiring.

I love marriage and being a father. I was born in Memphis, moved to Arkansas as a boy, and attend college in Missouri. Lived in Philadelphia (miss that city) long enough to know I belong in the South. I married my high school friend in March 2004 and became a father in 2007, again 2010. I love reading, good music, sunny days, writing, and resided in Austin, Texas.
